The ability of the Homo sapiens lie in ability to exist in adverse natural and climatic conditions. God has gifted mankind with brain that can detect, analyse, research, conclude and resolve an issue more effectively vis-à-vis any other known existing species on the earth. The phenomenal communication skills bind people from different countries, religions, race and caste to work in tandem with each other and help grow the Homo sapien species leading to unpredictable growth of the population at the cost of depleting natural resources.

Victor Hugo once remarked "Nature like a kind and smiling mother lands herself to our dreams and cherishes our fancies". Yet, nature is a big leveler and tries to curtail the increasing burden of human bodies on this earth by unleashing its destructive forces like Tsunami, Hurricanes, earthquakes and bird flu. Who had ever predicted that the unassuming, innocent and harmless little domesticated bird would create a panic across the globe by spreading the deadly H5N1 virus popularly known as bird flu (also called Avian influenza).

The past decade has experienced frequent and severe outbreaks of the deadly Avian influenza in Asian as well as European countries. The unprecedented scale of spread of Bird flu has resulted in huge economic and human lives losses. The disease spread from birds to humans on contact with its saliva, feaces or other body secretions. However, the spread of the disease amongst humans from one to another are not yet recorded. Virus has its ways of mutations, which has resulted in large-scale fear amongst mankind that it might start spreading from one human being to another resulting in culling of millions of birds across the globe to prevent a potential global pandemic.

The developing and populous nations are the most threatened with relatively uneducated population, few health care facilities and lesser space. The World Health Organization along with pharmaceutical companies is racing against time to invent preventive vaccines against Bird flu. Drugs like Amantadine have really emerged as saviors for the human race.

So many other natural forces already threaten the survival of the mankind, Bird flu couldn't have occurred at a worse time. Nature indeed is a volume of which God is the author.
