Erectile dysfunction
(ED) is inability to have or sustain erection with adequate
rigidity and duration for mutual sexual gratification.
Every man has ED occasionally. While embarrassing
during the heat of passion, it is not big enough to feel miserable.
Everyone has trouble getting an erection some time due to
nerves or booze. Only when it is frequent, it needs attention.
ED is an age dependent disorder. Levels of
testosterone, the "male" hormone, decrease gradually
with age and may affect sexual function.
Stage fright - the fear of failure - generates
tension in some making it impossible to relax and enjoy. When

increases body's production of adrenaline and nor-adrenaline,

Sexual dysfunction is a common side effect of surgery and
radiation treatment for prostate cancer. ED is more prevalent
in patients with other medical conditions such as diabetes,
heart disease, hypertension
and cigarette smoking.
Diabetes results in poor circulation and
peripheral neuropathy. When nerves are involved, sexual stimuli
are not transmitted appropriately to or from the brain and
erectile dysfunction develops. Among medications frequently
prescribed for ED, Generic
