Nowadays, we see the health experts are busy
advertising long list of do's and don'ts, have or have not,
and in making people aware of dangerous consequences of obesity.
But despite their efforts, obesity is spreading like an epidemic
throughout the world since the last decade. It has crippled
the life of many, and has also been regarded as a risk factor
for other physical ailments like heart diseases, stroke, diabetes,
cancers, osteoporosis etc.
Keeping aside the rare cases of genetic make
up of the body that sometimes lead to the rare cases of obesity,
negligent eating behavior and lazy lifestyle of the people
are the main reason for the obesity.
It is the reason someone has said that obesity is not a disease
but a man made disorder.
If you consider that obesity is man made
disorder, then only a sincere and timely effort of the man
can control and curb it permanently. To compensate the need
of the people, there are plenty of weight loss kits, techniques,
diets and weight loss diet pills available in the market which
are helpful in controlling the weight.
Among these options, mostly preferred one
is the diet pills, people
are choosing it because it is easiest and prompt result giving
option and is designed mainly for the treatment of extreme
cases of obesity. Diet pills are more effective when the weight
gain is exogenous.
Though diet pills are available in plenty,
some may not require doctor's prescription, but you are advised
to take medical assistance before taking any diet pills since
you may fail to take right dose, and may know nothing about
its possible side effects, which are better solved by a doctor.

Meridia is prescribed to
serious overweight people; it works by increasing the level
of chemical messenger like serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine
in the brain which are related to weight maintenance. In addition,
it can be taken by the obese people who are having health
problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, high
cholesterol.
Meridia can be taken with or without food
preferably in the morning, missed dose should not be taken
late in the day and it should be kept at room temperature
in a tight light resistant container away from heat and moisture.
There are various side effects of Meridia,
common effects are abdominal pain, acid indigestion, constipation,
dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety, depression, nasal inflammation,
nausea, nervousness, painful menstruation, stomachache, sore
throat and less common side effects are bronchitis, arthritis,
allergy, ear and dental problem, difficulty in breathing,
laryngitis, muscle ache, leg cramps, increased blood pressure
and urinary tract infection. If the intensity of the side
effects seems severe, consult a doctor immediately.
Apart from Meridia, there are numerous weight
loss drugs and all works well if taken with healthy diet and
exercise. So, do not expect any magic to happen in your body,
instead monitor what you eat and drink each day, avoid junk
and fried foods and spend minimum of 20-60 minutes exercising.
So, whether you are obese or not, eating
right and exercise is a must for everyone, which will be rewarding
in the long run. Diet pills are useful in short-term weight
management, it would be better if you could avoid chemicals
and follow natural process in controlling obesity.
