Losing weight is not such a
big challenge as it seems. If you are particular about a few
basic things, you'll soon be smiling at a new healthier you
in the mirror. Weight reduction largely depends upon the energy
equation (i.e.: the amount of calories you consume in a day
- the amount you burn) If you consume the same amount of calories
you burn, you stay the same weight and vice-versa.
Calorie Intake
Controlling your calorie intake
can help you a long way in losing
weight. Don't cut down on all you eat, instead, balance
your meals with nutrients. Research shows that it's easy to
burn small meals than one large meal that leaves you hungry
a few hours later. Since spicy food too infuses high metabolism
include them in your diet charts, but stay strictly away from
processed food. And eat small portioned meals every three
hours.
At about 5 or 6 o'clock every
evening we are struck with hunger pangs- beware of FAKE HUNGER
-This is nothing but the body sending out signals that it
needs water.
Women tend to eat more when
with men forgetting that men and women have different calorie
requirements. Therefore, when with a man, use a small plate
it will allow small sized portions of food to be served and
also gulp a lot of water mid meals.
After you have finished eating
your food always lock the kitchen door to remind yourself
that after meal snacking is off limits.
Increasing Metabolism
The second step towards weight
loss is burning what you consume, and since our lives today
are made easy by technology, we get so dependent on it that
we end up doing less activity than what is actually healthy
for our body. Use these simple techniques to increase your
metabolism and lose weight.
Tap your feet, drum your fingers,
move your head, change positions, clench and release your
muscles, stand up when on the phone, don't use internal phone
instead go in person. Park in the farthest car park, take
a quick lunch and use the rest of the lunch hour to take a
walk in the parking lot. When at home spend some time gardening
or walk for an hour.
Stress Management
It is important to be stress
free to lose weight, when depressed, our body demands high
fat/calorie foods, therefore when faced with such cravings
one should indulge in nutrient dense snacks, instead of the
usual, chocolate-coke-chips marathon.
