As per the data released by National Center for Health Statistics of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2002, nearly 12 percent women bear the pain of infertility and experience difficulty either in getting pregnant or are incapable of carrying baby to the final stage. In medical terms, female infertility is an inability to being pregnant even after one year of constant efforts. Women who complain of not getting pregnant or experience repeat miscarriages are touted as infertile.

Infertility

When it comes to women, infertility is a common ailment. However, female infertility is always not a sole cause behind the reproduction failure. Only in one-third incidences, women are found accountable for the infertility. Similarly, men are also responsible for infertility only in about one-third cases and rest of the infertility incidences are outcomes of the combination of both male and female factors.

In general, a woman gets pregnant because of the chain of events occurs with in her body. To get pregnant, it is essential that an egg must be released by one of her ovaries and then this egg must reach uterus via a fallopian tube. After reaching the uterus, it is prerequisite that man's sperm should be attached with egg in order to make it fertile. And thereafter the egg should be implanted well inside the uterus. When any hindrance occurs while the conclusion of above mentioned steps, the onset of female infertility becomes almost sure.

In all, ovulation problems are one of the main factors behind the mounting rate of female infertility cases. With out proper ovulation, there is no chance for any woman to get pregnant anyway. Irregular or missed menstrual periods are few common reasons that affect the ovulation process in most women. Besides, there are also few less common factors that also result infertility in women. Blocked fallopian tubes because of endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease, physical troubles within the uterus, and uterine fibroids are additional factors that also shored up female infertility remarkably.

So, to keep infertility aloof, talk to your doctor if you have any doubt or desire to get pregnant with any hitch.
