Gynecological
Concerns
A women can go through different kinds
of gynecological concerns, these condition require special care
therefore it is suggested to consult you're your health care professional
immediately if you undergo any such problem. Some of the common
Gynecological concerns are:
Menstrual
Cramps: A condition wherein women observe severe painful
cramps during menstruation. This can be categorized into two types,
Primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea
means pain has recurred regularly or within a year or two of the
first period (puberty). Secondary dysmenorrhea means pain began
years after periods started. Women with dysmenorrhea are generally
fertile. Severity of symptoms varies greatly from woman to woman
and from one time to the next in the same woman. Dysmenorrhea usually
is less severe after a woman has had a baby.
Sexually Transmitted
Diseases (STDs): These are infectious diseases transmitted
through sexual contact.
Missed or
Irregular Periods: There are various factors that may lead
to missed or irregular periods, some of the common factors are Pregnancy,
Stress, weight loss or gain, intensive exercise, and travel, Use
of birth control pills or other hormonal contraception, which may
cause lighter, less frequent or skipped periods, Menopause or menarche
(starting of menstrual periods). For the first few years and final
years of menstruation, periods may be irregular, Hormone imbalance
or problems in the reproductive system. And medication such as steroids,
tranquilizers, and diet pills
Premenstrual
Syndrome (PMS): A combination of physical and mood related
symptoms that occur after ovulation and usually terminate at the
start of the menstrual period or shortly thereafter. Many symptoms
have been attributed to PMS, including mood changes, bloating, acne,
fatigue, anxiety and irritability, breast swelling and tenderness.
Vaginal Infections:
Vaginal infections are an irritation of the vagina, which may be
caused from: Bath oils, bubble baths, douches, scented pads or tampons;
Bacteria that normally live there but have overgrown causing symptoms.
Vaginal discharge is normal. If you have a vaginal infection you
may notice a change in the color, amount or odor of the discharge.
Menopause:
The term menopause means the cessation of menstruation. However,
it is commonly used to refer to the period in a woman's life when
she passes out of her reproductive years. Menopause usually begins
between the ages of 45 and 50 as the ovaries gradually cease to
function.
Urinary Tract
Infections (UTI): A bacterial infection in the urinary tract
is one of the most common of the infectious diseases that our canines
can contract. However common it may be, the long range consequences
of ignoring UTI can lead to kidney failure, prostatitus, septicemia,
discospondylitis, or bacterial endocarditis. Infertility or death
can also be the end result of hoping that this will simply go away.
It is simple to test for by a veterinarian, and to treat in the
early stages.
Urinary Incontinence:
Involuntary or accidental loss of urine sufficient to be a problem.
There are several types of UI, but all are characterized by an inability
to restrain or control urinary voiding.
