Generic drugs are a big boon for pharmacies. Retail
pharmacies are reaping the benefit from generic drugs because they
earn substantially more money dispensing generic medicines as compared
to branded names. Pharmacy chains including Walgreen's and CVS have
recently reported higher sales of generic drugs which includes versions
of drugs like Allegra.
The increased sales of generics is expected to
continue this year as more drugs including Zocor and Zoloft
are going off from patent protection. Retail pharmacies are facing
cuts in Medicaid and the impact of the new Medicare drug benefit.
Generic drugs are gradually making there presence felt. There popularity
is on a rise because they're affordable, cheap, but at the same
time as beneficial as their branded counterpart such as the generic
erectile dysfunction drug Kamagra which is as efficient as its
branded version Viagra.
