Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and InvaGen Pharmaceuticals
have entered into a collaboration deal for the joint development,
filing and marketing of seven generic pharmaceutical products for
the market. The product list includes a mixture of off-patent and
patent-protected molecules with cumulative annual sales of about
$4.1 billion.
According to Glenn Saldanha, MD and CEO of Glenmark,
the deal between the two pharma companies is also in line with their
multi-pronged approach to strengthen their presence as a serious
generics player in the market. Glenmark has signed a collaboration
agreement with another Indian company, Shasun Chemicals and Drugs,
for the joint development and marketing of 13 generic
drug products in the market.
