Norvasc (Amlodipine) is used alone or with other medication to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain). It comes under the class of medications known as calcium channel blockers. It lowers the blood pressure in an individual by calming or relaxing the blood vessels so that the heart does not have to work as hard or pump as hard.
